July 2026 Community Spotlight: Trishta Villalta, BCBA

Capable Hearts — Building Authentic Connection for Neurodivergent Adults

This July, CircaThera is proud to recognize Trishta Villalta, BCBA, a behavior analyst, founder, and advocate with over 10 years of experience supporting neurodivergent individuals. Through her work with Capable Hearts, she is redefining behavioral support by centering it on one essential goal: authentic human connection.

Capable Hearts was created on the belief that confidence grows when individuals are surrounded by others who naturally understand their communication styles and ways of thinking. Rather than focusing on masking or performing social expectations, the platform creates space for neurodivergent adults to show up fully as themselves — and be understood.

My Philosophy: Creating Space for Authentic Connection

“This is the core of everything we do.”

Capable Hearts is built on the idea that real confidence comes from being seen and understood, not from changing who you are. When individuals connect with others who share similar communication styles, relationships become more natural and sustainable.

What BCBA Support Looks Like at Capable Hearts

Trishta’s approach integrates behavioral support in a way that prioritizes connection, self-understanding, and real-world relationship skills.

Education Without Judgment

Members learn to understand their own communication patterns — how they express interest, show care, and build emotional connection — based on their own neurodivergent style, not neurotypical expectations.

Confidence Building Through Strategy

Support includes practical, authentic strategies for social situations such as starting conversations, navigating conflict, expressing needs, and managing rejection without shutdown or masking.

Sustainable Relationship Skills

The focus extends beyond initial interaction to long-term relationship success, including understanding healthy patterns, communication repair, and building connections that last.

The Difference: Therapy vs. Support

Capable Hearts is not traditional therapy. Instead, it focuses on real-world connection and relationships.

  • Therapy focuses on internal processing

  • Capable Hearts focuses on communication, connection, and navigating relationships in ways that work for neurodivergent minds

This approach bridges the gap between self-understanding and real-life interaction.

Why This Matters?

Neurodivergent individuals often face added challenges in relationships due to differences in communication styles. Capable Hearts removes that barrier by creating a space where members already start from shared understanding.

The result is support that goes beyond connection — helping individuals build authentic, sustainable relationships rooted in confidence and mutual understanding.
